Just received my used 1997 Les Paul Studio DC. replacement electrolytic capacitors (F&T) replacement signal caps (Mallory 150 & Silver Mica) original speaker: 12" Oxford 12M6 dated 465130 Controls: Volume, Treble, Bass | Volume, Treble, Bass | Presence It is fully functional and sounds absolutely fantastic. This rare amp will make a great purchase for any serious player, studio or amp collector. In addition, the Tone Ring cabinet projects a tremendous amount of low end without the flubbiness often associated with Fender piggyback bottoms. In breakup the amp has plenty of low-mid chunk, while still maintaing the individual note clarity that defines the Fender sound. The 6G6 circuit is highly sought-after for its unique, crunchy overdrive tone that bridges the gap between the stereotypical "American" and "British" tones. Aside from the capacitors and the modern AC cord, all other electrical components appear to be original. Power supply filter caps were replaced with F&T electrolytics. All non-original signal caps were replaced with Mallory 150s or Silver Mica caps. While the amp functioned fine, we didn't find the repair work to be up to our standard of quality, so we opted to replace the non-original caps with modern, high-quality parts. When we purchased this amp, it had already received a full 're-cap' some years earlier, with nearly every capacitor having been replaced. It also includes the rare original speaker cord and extremely rare original Victoria canvas slip covers. This example is clean and original where it counts. The 6G6 Bassman was only produced for a brief period in 1961. This is the rare original 6G6 circuit paired the orignal 1x12 'Tone Ring' cabinet. A vintage 1961 blonde Fender Bassman piggyback amp in great cosmetic condition.
